MIRI: The smashed glass panel of the front door of a commercial bank at Jalan Bendahara here has raised a few eyebrows after it was discovered yesterday.
Pieces of the glass panel were seen scattered along the five-foot-way leading to the entrance of the bank.
According to a member of the public met by thesunbrokdaypost, he noticed the broken fragments at around 7am when he and a friend were passing by the area to have breakfast at a nearby coffee shop.
“When we passed through the area after breakfast, we were puzzled to see the broken glass panel scattered all over the place.
However, all the automated teller machines and cash deposit machines were intact,” said the man, who wished to remain anonymous.
Members of the public could be seen going about their transactions as usual, even though they had to sidestep the scattered shards of glass.
No police report has been lodged regarding the incident.
A mobile police vehicle (MPV) was despatched to the scene at around 12pm to investigate.
Meanwhile, Miri deputy police chief Supt Stanley Jonathan Ringgit advised members of the public not to speculate regarding the incident.
