AMIN ABANG … a double for himself and his two winning mounts.

KUCHING: Apprentice Amin Abang had the best day of his riding career when he booted home a double astride two top weights in the four-race programme on Sunday.

Amin, who rides with an apprentice claim of 2.5kg, bagged his first winner on No Money No Talk in Race 4 (Class 2 – 1000M).

He stole the thunder of champion jockey Roslan Bujang by riding a steady race on the Berjaya Stable’s seven-year-old to edge Dream

Lobo, mount of the latter, by head in a photo finish.

Royal Command (Mazlan Bujang) finished third 7 ½ lengths adrift.

No Money No Talk, trained by Tamizi Putit, paid RM18.

Amin struck again when he scored on Bukan Lawan Nya in the next event – Race 5 (Class 1 – 1000M).

The apprentice rider guided the six-year-old to a 3 1/2-length victory from Money Come (Hamid Elli) with Geronimo

(Roslan Bujang) third 1 3/4 lengths further back.

Bukan Lawan Nya, owned by Berjaya Stable and trained by Tamizi Puteh, paid RM18.

Apart from claiming the day’s double, Amin had also brought off a double for his two winning mounts for the April Meeting.

Bukan Lawan Nya and No Money No Talk had both won the first Sunday (12.4.2015).

Junior Champ (Maruf Wahab) also completed a double for the meeting by following up on his victory on the first weekend with big-margin win in Race 1 (Class 5 – 1000M).

The seven-year-old won by six lengths from Big Chief (Jasmi Kamar) with Natural Beauty (Hamid Elli) third 3 1/2 lengths further back.

Junior Champ, owned by Sara Stable and trained by Lee Moi Fong, paid a good dividend of RM53.

Intan (Roslan Bujang) made a winning 2015 season debut in Race 2 (Class 4 – 1000M).

The eight-year-old beat Honey Money (Jasmi Kamar) by 1 1/2 lengths with Peace Pipe (Othman Putit) third, 7 lengths further back.

Intan, owned by Samba Ramin Stable and trained by Tamizi Putit, paid RM11.

Race 3 (Class 3 – 1000M) was cancelled due to insufficient final acceptors and the entry fees were refunded.

The going was yielding.
