KUCHING: Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak (PBDS) Baru has decided not to seek affiliation with either the Barisan Nasional (BN) or Pakatan Rakyat for the time being, although it is open to forming loose cooperation with Sarawak-based political parties.

PBDS Baru deputy president Patrick Anek Uren, in a statement today, said the party is also interested to cooperate with NGOs and other groups having similar agendas and objectives.

In addition, PBDS Baru may not consider contesting in the next state election it deemed a very “crowded political scenario” in the state at present.

“In such an event, members of the party shall be at liberty to support any group of their choice. Elections are still not known when it is to be conducted, however the party shall cross the bridge when come to it,” Anek told The Borneo Post in regards to PBDS Baru resolution made during its supreme council meeting at Telang Usan Hotel here last Saturday.

He added that the party will begin its recruitment drive statewide including setting up branches. As membership increases, the party will look to set up divisions. PBDS Baru will hold dialogue sessions in all major towns throughout the state.
