KUCHING: The leader in total office and business solutions, Ricoh (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd inked a ‘green’ partnership with government-owned bank, Agrobank at the Agrobank Headquarters recently.

According to Mad Yusof Yazid, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Agrobank, Agrobank is committed to increase business productivity through technology.

“Agrobank is always exploring ways to reduce costs and increase efficiencies in our business operations. With an established partner such as Ricoh furnishing us with innovative green technology, including green document solutions, Agrobank is able to have cost savings of up to 50 per cent.

“For us, this is a smart collaboration that will help strengthen our Bank’s operations while we do our part in our sustainability initiatives.

“The need to drive a sustainable workplace is dire as the world is being engulfed drastically by the depletion of natural resources. However, contrary to popular beliefs, adopting environmental sustainability habits will not pose as a hindrance for the company.

“A change required for any corporate player should start at one’s workplace – and with Ricoh, we have the added benefit to do so, while going green,” said Mad Yusof.

Together with Ricoh Malaysia, Agrobank will undergo a transformational infrastructure change encompassing 160 branches (out of 190 branches) across Malaysia, with a synergised goal to reduce electricity usage, minimize carbon dioxide emissions, raise green awareness among employees, and potentially transforming Agrobank into a “paper-less” environment.

To do so, under its Managed Document Services (MDS), Ricoh Malaysia will implement Environmental Sustainability, furnishing Agrobank with green products, rightsizing equipment, change management activities, implement green KPIs for monitoring and management, as well as provide continuous improvement consultation.

“We are honoured and humbled to be appointed Agrobank’s trusted partner in pursuing the status of a Green Corporate Citizen. Our partnership with Agrobank is a wonderful extension of Ricoh’s sustainable beliefs and corporate values,” said Peter Wee, managing director of Ricoh.

“Through our five year partnership, while we aim to empower Agrobank with economical technologies to harmonise businesses with their environments, it is our mission as a leader in total office and business solutions to also streamline a more efficient business workflow, simplifying work and increasing work performance with quality offerings, in order to complement the growth of Agrobank,” added Wee.

Ricoh was selected recently for the FTSE4Good Index Series, the UK-based FTSE Group’s social responsibility investment index, for 11 consecutive years. Having also earned a Prime assessment in the oekom sustainability ratings, as well as achieving Silver Class in the sustainability ratings of RobecoSAM, Ricoh has inevitably earned worldwide recognition for its sustainability efforts.
