HM Supports Palestine’s Right to Self-Determination, Zionist Terrorism a Global Concern

JAKARTA, INDONESIA: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in a titah, expressed deep concern on the fate of Palestinians that their plight remains unresolved and that they continue to be victims of Zionist Israeli aggression and military occupation, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

Hence, His Majesty is pleased to support the Declaration on Palestine. His Majesty hopes that all member countries will continue to support the Palestinians in their noble struggle to realise their rights to self-determination, dignity and independence. His Majesty also touched on several positive events in recent years especially the overwhelming recognition of Palestine’s statehood and the elevation of their status in the international arena. His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made the titah while attending the Plenary Session of the Asian-African Summit 2015 in Jakarta, Republic of Indonesia.

Earlier, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to join other Heads of States and Governments for the opening ceremony of the Asian-African Summit 2015 at the Jakarta Convention Center. The opening ceremony of the Asian-African Summit 2015 began with a cultural performance.

His Excellency Dato Laila Utama Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, in his opening remarks among others said that the world today still faces a lot of injustice and violence. More than one hundred Heads of States and Governments from more than 80 Asian and African countries attended the summit.

The Asian-African Summit 2015 proceeded with the Plenary Session whereby His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to deliver a Titah. In the Titah, His Majesty extended his warmest congratulations and appreciation to His Excellency Dato Laila Utama Joko Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia and His Excellency Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa for convening the Summit in Jakarta.

Accompanying His Majesty were Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Second Minister of Finance at the Prime Minister’s Office; Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Lim Jock Seng, Second Minister of the Foreign Affairs and Trade; and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office.
