KUCHING: The Sarawak Motocross Club (SMXC) will conduct a motocross workshop on basic skills of riding motocross motorcycles at the Kota Samarahan Motocross track this weekend.

According to club president William Sinos, the workshop is limited to 30 persons and registrations will be based on first come and first serve basis.

“On the first day, participants will be taught in class (theory lessons) on the proper skill of handling motocross motorcycles. On the second day, we will take participants on to the field (at the Kota Samarahan motocross track) and give them practical lessons,” he said.

During the first day of the workshop, participants will be given lessons based on standard international guidelines in motocross races.

“I believe that it will be the first time that a workshop like this is conducted in Sarawak. We also hope to unearth a few unpolished gems when we conduct the workshop,” said William.

The Ministry of Social Development (KPS) and the Sarawak Automotive and Racing Sports Association (Sarsa) are helping SNXC in organising the workshop.

William thanked KPS and Sarsa for their assistance and also the Samarahan Resident Office, Kota Samarahan District Office, Kota Samarahan Police, Samarahan District Council Office and the Kota Samarahan Civil Defence Department for their cooperation.
