KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Road Transport Department (RTD) have confiscated two more luxury cars believed to be clones which were smuggled from a neighbouring country, bringing the total number of seized cloned vehicles to 171 so far.
MACC intelligence director Datuk Azam Baki said the RTD seized a Lexus car in Padang Jawa, Selangor, in an operation this morning while the MACC seized a Honda Odyssey car believed to be owned by a teacher.
“The car was seized after it was detained by the police following a police report lodged by the teacher on Wednesday.
“As of yesterday, a total of 169 vehicles have been seized by the MACC and RTD in Terengganu, Johor and Negeri Sembilan,” he said in a statement yesterday.
Azam said the MACC would be calling all 153 owners of the vehicles seized by the RTD in Terengganu. — Bernama
