Driver uninjured after lodging car up tree

KUCHING: A  driver escaped injury after an accident left his vehicle perched midway  up a tree early yesterday.

The unidentified driver was heading towards Mile 3 via  Rock Road when his car  went out of control and rammed through the perimeter fencing  of a house by the road.

The vehicle then spun and  went rearwards into a tree in the house’s compound before coming  to a rest halfway up the trunk.

He was able to make his way  out of the car and called for  a tow truck to have his car removed.

In an unrelated accident, a motorcyclist suffered a broken  leg following a collision with  a car at a traffic light  intersection in Kota Sentosa  on Friday night.

The 21-year-old was travelling alone from Samariang to  Kampung Haji Baki when  the incident occurred around  7.30pm.

Witnesses said he was making  a turn at the intersection from  Kota Sentosa towards Kampung  Haji Baki when he was struck  by a car travelling towards  Mile 6.

An ambulance from the Civil Defence Department was despatched to the scene to send the in-jured youth to Sarawak General Hospital, where he was admitted.
