TUARAN: Police arrested a local man at an unnumbered house at Kampung Layang-Layang after 13 grams of syabu or methamphetamine was found in his possession recently.
Disclosing this here yesterday, district polce chief DSP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malik said the 23-year-old suspect was found to be in possession of nine plastic packets of crystal-like substance believed to be syabu or methamphetamine.
Police believe that based on initial investigation the drugs weigh about 13 grams and valued at RM3,500, he said.
Abdul Fuad said the suspects urine also tested positive for drug abuse.
The suspect, who was an ex-convict and drug user, has been remanded for investigation under Section 39 A (1) and Section 15 (1) (a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 for drug possession and drug consumption respectively.
