KUCHING: A senior citizen was found dead near a junction at Jalan Bako early yesterday.
It is reported that Hamid Sam, 53, from Kampung Goebilt left his home in the wee hours to collect wood at the jungle near a secondary school there.
Around 6am, a passer-by saw the man lying next to a motorcycle by the roadside, with a bunch of chopped wood tied to the vehicle.
Paramedics, who arrived at the scene after being alerted of the case, pronounced the senior citizen dead on site. The body was later brought to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) mortuary.
Police have classified the case as sudden death, pending post mortem. Those who may have information about the incident or the deceased are called to Insp Hardy Charles at 018-2090340 to assist in the investigation.
