IPGTAR team win iidex bronze

KUCHING: The Institute Teacher Education Tun Abdul Razak (IPGTAR) Campus at Samarahan has scored another success by winning the bronze medal with its ‘Control and Balance Aid’ at the Invention, Innovation and Design Exposition 2015 (iidex 2015) at Dewan Agong Tunku Canselor, UiTM, Shah Alam from April 27-30.

The IPGTAR team led by Dr Chin Ngien Siong comprised Lim Ting Len, Jackwarior Jackol (Physical Education Trainee Teachers), Dines Ngau Wan (SK Saint Martin, Merdang), Candrawati Lilek, Salmi Lilek and Quek Eeu Len (Physical Education and Health Department).

The iidex 2015, an annual international exhibition and competition organised by the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia in alignment with National Higher Education Strategic Plan’s third thrust in enhancing research and innovation, attracted 660 participants this year.

Chin explained that their project was for beginners to acquire mastery of fundamental skills in volleyball and sepak takraw at a faster pace and to increase their confidence level.

The team extended their gratitude and appreciation to campus director Hamsiah Abdullah Masni for her tremendous support, Chai Poh Fatt, Steven Liew Guo Chen and Allan Chan from the Kuching Division Volleyball Association and the Sarawak Sports Corporation chief executive officer Dr Ong Kong Swee for their contribution and feedback.
