1,000 to benefit from jobs matching programme

MIRI: More than 1,000 job seekers from hard core poor and low-income families registered with e-Kasih will benefit from the Azam Jobs Matching Programme under 1Azam hosted by Miri Labour Office to be held at Miri Civic Centre concourse area on May 16 from 8am to 5pm.

During the one-day programme, several counters will be set up including an advisory service counter, E-Kasih and 1Azam counter, Jobs Malaysia counter as well as an open interview counter.

More than 20 employers from the private sector will participate in the job placement programme, offering more than 1,000 vacancies.

According to the Labour Office spokesperson, Atiqah Abdullah, the job fair is open to those aged 18 to 45 years only.

At the same time, she revealed that more such job placement programmes would be held in September.

“The programme will include job seekers registration for JobMalaysia, briefings and introduction to Azam projects such as ‘Jana Pendapatan Individu (Japi)’, Placement and Training (2PL) and community or group projects.

“Those who have registered with E-Kasih portal are encouraged to come and are advised to bring along copies of MyKad, academic certificates and other supporting documents to support their job applications,” she said yesterday.

She further said the programme is an appropriate platform to assist youths especially school leavers and graduates to look for jobs.
