MIRI: SUPP secretary general Datuk Sebastian Ting wants police to thoroughly investigate the assault on Dr Teo and bring the culprit to justice.

Ting strongly condemned the violence on Dr Teo – the first case against elected representatives here.

“It is very shocking and sad and we hope that Dr Teo would have a speedy recovery.

“This thing has never happened before and we hope that the police would conduct a thorough investigation. We believed the police would do a good job,” Ting said when contacted by The Borneo Post yesterday.

Ting, who is also SUPP Piasau chairman, also urged the Miri City Council to bid for more funds for the installation of closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, especially at strategic locations throughout the city to help curb crime.

Telang Usan assemblyman, Dennis Ngau, said, “I sympathise with Dr Teo. This thing shouldn’t have happened at all because I believe that no one should take the law into their own hands.”

Dr Teo is also PKR Miri chairman.
