MARUDI: Parents must encourage their young children to practise good oral hygiene. One of the ways that children cultivate the good habit is by brushing their teeth regularly.

This advice came from Assistant Minister of Public Utilities (Water Supply) and Marudi assemblyman Datuk Sylvester Entri when officiating at the Dental Health Day at Rumah Ridap Selat, Sungai Pasir some 10km from here recently.

He thanked the Dental Unit of Marudi Hospital for organising the event.

On another matter, Entri urged the Sungai Pasir residents to look for a suitable site for building Pusat Dalam Komuniti (PDK) and estimate its cost for him to bring up to the authorities.

In appreciation of the PDK class of Sg Pasir for producing beautiful craft works such as the nylon baskets which were put up for sale, he contributed RM2,000.

On the request from Tuai Rumah Ridap Selat for treated water to be supplied directly from Marudi town, he said he had brought up the matter at the State Legislative Assembly.

Among those who spoke were Marudi Hospital Dental Unit head Dr Nur Azizah Abdul Hadi and Tuai Rumah Ridap Selat.

Present were Baram information officer Joseph James, Pemanca Engah Nuga, Penghulu Randi Bundan, Cr Anthony Jelma Tebby and Cr Joshua Bungkong. At the function, he approved an undisclosed allocation to Rumah Ridap Selat for purchase of cement and tiles.
