Pulaulaut-Kalimantan Bridge Point proposed amended

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: A number of public figures, politicians and businessmen in Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan, proposing changes to the point of the bridge that connects the Pulaulaut to the mainland of Kalimantan, Antaranews reported.

The idea was stated by Chairman of the Tanah Bumbu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) H Hasudungan in a press conference in Banjarmasin on Tuesday.

They proposed that the point of the bridge construction in Tanah Bumbu changed from the original plan in Tanah Merah to Kersik Putih, both are located in Batulicin (the district capital). They reasoned Kersik Putih is superior to other points in the perspective of development in the Tanah Bumbu.

It eminences, among others, sea conditions is safe from the shipping movements, so that the safety of shipping more secure. While Kersih Putih is not a densely populated area, thus land acquisition is much easier and efficient.

“Moreover, there is a figure (H Amir) who is willing to donate land for the construction of the bridge,” added member of local assembly Fawahisah Mahabatan SE, SH.

Meanwhile, Tanah Bumbu legislator Andi Tanrang Alaydrus said, the point of the bridge construction in Kersik White will be shorter, so that the financing can be saved.

Construction of the bridge between Pulaulaut-Kalimantan planned 6,500 meters long with a point Tanjung Serdang – Tanah Merah, costs about Rp3.6 trillion.
