BRUNEI-MUARA: The provision of efficient, safe and easy public transport for the use of all levels of society in the country, including the special needs people, is among the strategic goals of the Ministry of Communications, Brudirect reported.
The introduction of new type of buses which has characteristics such as low floors is among the effort in achieving the goal. Two Low Floor buses were launched yesterday.
The launch was officiated by the Minister of Communications. Earlier, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Hamzah Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdullah bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar and the delegation attended a briefing and discussion session.
The buses owned by Syarikat ADBS Sdn. Bhd are an additional to the public buses that are currently available and is one of the efforts to upgrade the public buses transportation system in the country.
The bus which can accommodate 26 passengers has special characteristics for the special needs people such as low floor to facilitate their movement as well as a number of special seats for them.
