13 human skeletons exhumed from graves at Bukit Wang Burma

KUALA LUMPUR: Thirteen skeletons, believed to be the remains of human trafficking victims, have so far been exhumed from graves at Bukit Wang Burma in Wang Kelian, Perlis.

Inspector-General of Police Secretariat assistant head (Corporate Communications), ACP Datin Asmawati Ahmad said of the 13 skeletons, nine were brought down from the forest tonight at 8.45pm.

“The skeletons were taken to Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar, Kedah for examination by the pathologist.

“A police forensic team and teams from the Criminal Investigation Department and General Operations Force will continue to dig for more human remains at the identified locations,” she said in a statement today.

Last Monday, Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar announced the discovery of 139 graves at 28 human trafficking transit camps located between Kampung Wai and Tangga 100 Felcra in Perlis. -Bernama
