BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Fourteen Senior Officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) have been promoted yesterday with the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony was held at the Bolkiah Garrison Officer’s Mess, Brudirect reported.
In attendance to present the rank insignias was the Commander of the RBAF, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah.
Colonel Pengiran Norazmi bin Pengiran Haji Muhammad, Commander of the Royal Brunei Navy was promoted to First Admiral. Colonel Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, the RBAF Commander of Joint Force Command was promoted to Brigadier General while Lieutenant Colonel Haji Mohammad Amirol Shahnoel bin Haji Mohd Noeh was promoted to Colonel. Meanwhile, 11 Acting Lieutenant Colonels were promoted to Substantive Lieutenant Colonel.
Also present at the ceremony was the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat.
