KUCHING: An 18-year-old motorcyclist sustained severe injuries after being knocked from behind by a vehicle and then crashing into another on-coming vehicle near a clinic in Batu Kawa around 6.30am yesterday.

The victim’s 20-year-old friend from Indonesia, who was the pillion rider, suffered slight injuries in the accident, which occurred on their way to work.

His friend sought help from the nearest coffee shop to inform the relevant authorities. Both the Sarawak General Hospital and Civil Defence Department sent ambulances to the scene.

It is understood that one of the parties involved in the accident contacted Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How, who was seen at the scene.
