SIBU: Tunggok Jelian of Kampung Seduan Jaya, Mile 6, Oya Road, and her husband will celebrate Gawai Dayak with greater joy thanks to building materials donated by the Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Entrepreneurs (DUBS) Sibu.
DUBS Sibu donated materials for the roofing and walls of the couple’s house.
“This is indeed the best ever Gawai Dayak gift for the two of us as the generous DUBS Sibu has kindly helped us by giving new roofing and wall materials for our home,” said Tunggok after receiving the materials from DUBS patron Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee.
“For us, there is nothing better in life than to have a better home. Since seven years ago, we have being suffering during rainy days because our home’s roofing is leaking badly.”
DUBS Sibu chairman Khairul Nasir Abdullah said the donation is part of the chamber’s community project to help those in need.
“We help those in need based on our capacity and it is our hope that they will be able to enjoy this special occasion of Gawai Dayak with a smile and peace of mind where the leaking roofing is a thing of the past,” he said.
