KOTA KINABALU: Quick action by firefighters from the Sembulan Fire and Rescue Station prevented the Syariah Court (MUIS) in Sembulan from going up in smoke.
The fire was believed to have started in one of the offices located on the first floor around 7.30pm yesterday.
A spokesperson for the Sembulan Fire and Rescue Station said they received a distress call at 7.42pm and immediately sent 40 personnel in four fire engines and three utility vehicles to the scene.
“We managed to control the fire around 8.49pm while the operation ended around 10pm,” said the spokesperson.
Among the items destroyed in the fire were files, office equipments and the ceiling.
No casualty was reported while the actual cause of the fire and total loss were still under investigation, said the spokesperson.
