KUCHING: A businessman plunged to his death from the 15th floor of an apartment here yesterday.

According to sources, neighbours heard the sound of falling objects around 11am and when they checked they were shocked to find a body lying in the parking bay.

They alerted the security guard who immediately called the police at the station nearby.

It was learnt that the victim had just arrived home after closing his food outlet business.

The sources said based on the close circuit television (CCTV) footage he did not go to his apartment but was believed to have gone to the 15th floor before he fell off from the balcony.

Neighbours also said that prior to his death they had not seen his family members.

He stayed at the 10th floor apartment with his wife and a child.

It is also learnt that occasionally his parents-in-law would come over to the apartment.

The man’s body was brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for post mortem and the police have classified the case as sudden death.
