KUCHING: A bunch of colourful balloons was spotted swaying in the wind above the Tun Abdul Rahman Yakub Bridge in Satok here yesterday.

The man who helms the national government was in the city for the Gawai celebration and so it was only natural to think the balloons related directly to the festival and were floated as a gesture of welcome for him.

However, this was neither confirmed nor denied by the reader who sent the few snapshots of the balloons to The Borneo Post.

The reader’s email was titled My way, Highway, Exit way and it came with a note attached: “Hi, we accidentally took these pictures at the Satok Bridge. Don’t know whose work it is. What do you think?”

Attached to the bunch of balloons was also a white pennant with the following message: “PM Najib, Your Way? Highway? This way! Resign!”

While the Prime Minister has come under pressure from his detractors to step down over the IMDB issue, he has also received pledges of support from leaders of state governments under the ruling coalition, especially in Sarawak and Sabah.

The Prime Minister has told his cabinet ministers who disagree with him and are suspected of plotting his ouster that they should resign.

Thus far, none has done so.

So who is actually behind the dotting balloon at the Satok Bridge?

It does not take rocket scientist to know who does it? Or does it represent the wishes of Sarawakians?

The answer is blowing in the wind.
