SD Atu Atu Pelaihari achieves Adiwiyata Mandiri 2015

PELAIHARI, South Kalimantan: State Primary School (SDN) Atu-Atu, Pelaihari sub-district, Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, won the Adiwiyata Mandiri 2015 from the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Antaranews reported.

“The success of SDN Atu-Atu is the second time for Tanah Laut. Previously in 2014, Breeding High School (SNAKMA) Pelaihari also received a similar award,” said Head of the Tanah Laut Environment Agency Riyadi in Pelaihari, Tuesday.

Awards from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry to SDN Atu-Atu was submitted directly by the President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Bogor on the World Environment Day, June 5, 2015.

Besides SDN Atu-Atu, there are still six schools in South Kalimantan won similar awards, namely from Banjar District, the City of Banjarbaru, and Banjarmasin.

For the success, the South Kalimantan provincial government through the Regional Environmental Agency (BLHD) gave appreciation for the schools winner of Adiwiyata Mandiri.

“Wednesday, June 16, 2015 South Kalimantan provincial government commemorate the World Environment, and the Adiwiyata Mandiri award-winning schools were gifted with three-wheeled vehicles handed over by Governor Rudy Arifin,” he said.
