KUCHING: The recently concluded Conquer the Court tournament was a success, according its organising chairman Andre Kho.
The June 13 event, jointly organised by SuperSquashers with the Squash Association of Kuching (SAK), attracted over 200 participants and supporters and achieved its objective to demonstrate to members of the public that squash can be a fun game for all.
“SuperSquashers will definitely continue to organise more fun events and tournaments to promote squash in Sarawak,” Kho added.
Meanwhile, guest of honour of the tournament, Cahya Mata Sarawak (CMS) Bhd group managing director Dato Richard Curtis expressed his pleasure at seeing the organisers create a fun platform to promote squash.
Curtis himself actively plays squash and is passionate about the sport and has given the Sarawak squash community his continuous support since 2009.
During the event, participants and supporters were entertained by Hitz cruisers who dropped by to play some games and give away prizes and were thrilled to be plied with free cotton candy and popcorn throughout the event.
