KUALA LUMPUR: Former world number one Datuk Lee Chong Wei cruised into the quarterfinals of the US Open Grand Prix Gold held at the Suffolk County Community College in Brentwood, United States.

The 33-year-old Chong Wei defeated the young Kai Guo of China 21-17 and 22-20 in 43 minutes of the third round battle.

With the victory, unseeded Chong Wei set up a clash against Rajiv Ouseph of England who defeated China’s Zhu Siyuan 21-11 and 21-8.
