LAHAD DATU: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident involving a Proton Persona car at Km 7, Jalan Lahad Datu-Tungku on Wednesday night.
District police chief ACP Hamzah Ahmad when contacted yesterday said the victim had been identified as Wilhelmus Lasmin, 34.
It was learnt that the victim was heading towards Jalan Tungku when the incident occurred at about 6.20pm.
“Initial investigation found that the Proton Persona driver had failed to notice the motorcyclist and hit the victim while entering a junction.
“The impact of the crash killed the victim on the spot due to head injuries,” he said, adding that the Proton Persona driver escaped unhurt.
Hamzah added that further investigation was still ongoing under Section 41(1) of Road Transport Act 1987.
