Bank Negara Malaysia’s international reserves at RM390.2 bln as at June 15

KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM)’s international reserves amounted to RM390.2 billion (equivalent to US$105.3 billion) as at June 15, 2015.

The reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.1 months of retained imports and is 1.1 times the short-term external debt, the cental bank said in a statement yesterday.

The main components of the international reserves were foreign currency reserves (US$96.5 billion), International Monetary Fund reserves position (US$0.8 billion), Special Drawing Rights (US$1.8 billion), gold (US$1.4 billion) and other reserve assets (US$4.8 billion). — Bernama
