KG, JANGSAK, BRUNEI-MUARA: Throughout the month of Ramadhan, mosques and surau across the country as well as personal residences are further glorified with religious activities such as Tedarus Al-Quran. A Khatam Al-Quran ceremony in conjunction with Ramadhan was held yesterday at the residence of the Minister of Religious Affairs, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad Bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman, Brudirect reported.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohammad, followed by recitations of Takhtim Al-Quran, Tahlil and Doa Khatam led by Zulkifli bin Haji Murat, the Authority at the Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque. And the Doa ‘Peliharakan Sultan and Brunei Darussalam’ was read by Haji Haris bin Haji Suboh, Acting Senior Officer at the Jame’ ‘Asr Hassanil Bolkiah.
The ceremony ran concurrently with an Iftar session and a mass Maghrib prayer. Also present was Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Yusoff bin Haji Ismail, the Deputy Minister of Education and Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Bahrom Bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, the Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs.
