Many fake e-KTP found in Banjarmasin

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: Head of the Banjarmasin Civil Registry and Demography Agency (Disdukcapil) Khairul Saleh said his agency has found many fake electronic identity cards (e-KTP), Antaranews reported.

Disdukcapil found dozens of e-KTP photocopy belonging to residents after matched with data were not recorded or never existed in the document notes issued in this area.

“One of them is the bank in cooperation with our office for validity of the identity of prospective customers, may be related to the handling of credit cards. Of the 35 e-KTP copy asked to be checked only six pieces recorded in the records of population,” he said in a plenary meeting of DPRD on Friday.

The rest, said Khairul, 29 copies of prospective customers’ e-KTP were not recorded alias bulging, a fact of which its NIK number does not match the name of its owner.

“Besides that is the fingerprint can not be engineered. It is evidence during a recording of making e-KTP,” said Khairul.

He explained, making the E-ID card takes about one and a half months. Therefore, after recording the identity of citizens in the district, the data is sent to be verified to the center, prior to printing in the area.

“Print can be done here (Disdukcapil office), but the procedure must go through centers of all data population in the manufacture of e-KTP,” he explained.

He appealed, people not trusting or tempted by the lure of persons or brokers who can arrange rapid outside the procedures of e-KTP handling, because it could be forgery.
