KUALA LUMPUR: Super League leaders Pahang failed to capitalise on home ground advantage and had to settle for a 1-1 draw against nearest rivals Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at the Darul Makmur Stadium in Kuantan tonight.

However, the result did not dent their position in the league as they have 27 points after 13 matches, two points more than JDT.

In tonight’s action, Mohd Amri Yahyah had put the visitors ahead in the 67th minute before Pahang defender Damion Delano Stewart’s equaliser eight minutes later ensured the hosts were not left empty-handed.

At the Shah Alam Stadium, Selangor secured their seventh win this season after defeating Terengganu 2-0 with the goals contributed by Abdul Hadi Yahya in the 4th minute and defender Robert Cornthwaite in the 23rd minute.

Also taking home three points were Perak who defeated bottom-placed Sime Darby FC 3-1 at the Selayang Stadium.

\The hosts’ Serbian import Marko Perovic stunned the visitors when he slammed home a cross in the 15th minute but goals by Horace James (30th), Charles Chad Souza (45th) and Mohd Nasir Basharuddin (75th) earned Perak victory.

Meanwhile, Klang Valley club Felda United FC moved up one spot to fifth place when they defeated Sarawak 2-0 at the Sarawak Stadium in Kuching.

The goals by the ‘The Fighters’ were netted by D. Christie Jayaseelan (11th) and Brazilian import, Thiago Augusto (58th).

In the only Super League match played yesterday, Police had defeated Lions XII of Singapore 2-1 at the Shah Alam Stadium.

The match between Kelantan and Armed Forces which was supposed to be played at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Kota Baharu tonight will only be played after the Ramadan month as it is being used by the state government for its Madinah Ramadan programme. — Bernama
