JAPEM Presents Donation to 4 Less Fortunate Families

TUTONG: The Community Development Department (JAPEM) continues to play its role in caring for the needy. Four less fortunate and special needs families in the Tutong District received attention from JAPEM yesterday, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.

Contributions in the form of basic necessities and hampers for the upcoming festivities of Hari Raya were presented by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah.

One of the recipients, Awang Mahmud bin Haji Mohammad, lives in Kampong Bukit Beruang, Tutong with his wife and 8 children. Awang Mahmud is an individual with special needs and receives a pension as well as a monthly welfare allowance of BND$250.

Also receiving a similar contribution was Dayang Fatimah Binti Burut, who lives in Kampong Sengkarai. She receives a monthly welfare contribution of BND$200. She also has eight children.

Dayang Nazwa Bte Abdul Ghani, from the Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme is an individual with special needs. She is the eldest of three siblings and receives a monthly allowance of BND$40. Also receiving assistance was Awang Johari Bin Mohd Rosli, from Kampong Luagan Dudok who also receives a disability allowance.

Joining the minister’s delegation was Datin Paduka Hajah Adina Binti Othman, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
