KUALA TERENGGANU: The Terengganu Football Association (PBSNT) has urged the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to postpone the match between Terengganu and Sarawak on Saturday.

Its president, Datuk Wan Ahmad Nizam Wan Hamid said they applied to the FAM to postpone the 14th match at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium as it falls on Nuzul Quran Day.

“PBSNT secretary (Arpin Draman) sent a letter to the FAM today. I hope the FAM Local Competitions Committee receive our letter early so that they can present it during the meeting,” he told reporters after chairing a meeting with the players and the management at PBSNT office here, yesterday.

In another development, Wan Ahmad Nizam said head coach Abdul Rahman Ibrahim had made an application for leave.

“We have agreed to his request for leave. For the time being, his duties will be taken over by Ahmad Yusof and Mustapha Kamal Abdul Wahab.

“He applied for leave and we have given him three months leave until the Super League matches are over.”

However, Wan Ahmad Nizam said the 70-year-old coach did not disclose his reason for wanting to go on leave. — Bernama
