MANGGIS / MADANG: A Khatam Al-Quran and Doa Kesyukuran ceremony has been held in conjunction with the 57th year of establishment of the Immigration and National Registration Department. The ceremony was held yesterday at the Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque in Kampong Manggis/Madang, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
Present as the guest of honour was Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, Minister of Home Affairs.
The ceremony began with Sunnat Hajat Prayers, followed by the thanksgiving prayers led by Imam Haji Jofri bin Haji Abidin. This continued with the recitation of the Takhtim, Doa Khatam Al-Quran, Dikir Marhaban and the presentation of certificates to Department of Immigration and National Registration personnel for participating in reciting the 30 Juzuk of the Al-Quran.
The Minister of Home Affairs also presented funds for mosque construction. This was followed by a presentation of donations to 16 orphans from staffs of the department.
Also present, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
