KUCHING: The youth basketball tournament for Under-17 Boys and Girls has attracted 19 teams including seven girls teams vying for the Summer Mall Cup at the MBKS Indoor Stadium in Pending from July 4-14.
In a press release, the organiser Kuching Division Basketball Association (KDBA) said the boys competition is divided into three groups and the girls two groups.
In Boys Group A are Altitude, Ou Yang, Saba and Highian while Lodge School, SMK Batu Kawa and CHMS No. 1 Blue are in Group B and Group C comprises Sky, Petra Jaya, CHMS No. 1 and CHMS No. 3.
The teams in Girls Group A are Lodge School, Matahari, Petra Jaya and Saba while Group B consists of CHMS No. 1, SMK Batu Kawa and Highian.
On the opening day on July 4, Lodge School will meet Matahari in the Girls Group A at 2pm followed by Lodge School versus SMK Batu Kawa in Boys Group B and four other matches.
The quarter-finals will be staged on July 11, followed by the semi-finals on July 12 and the finals on July 14 (Tuesday).
