KUCHING: Dayak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) will be holding its third annual Overseas Educational and Exploratory Business Trip to Taiwan from Dec 5 to 11.

Its deputy president Kilat Beriak said the objective of the proposed trip was to provide an opportunity for Dayak professionals and businessmen to learn from their counterparts in Taiwan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry and to explore commercial and trade opportunities.

“A visit to the Malaysian Mission in Taipei is another official programme during the visit,” said Kilat, who is also DCCI’s Services Committee chairman.

Kilat recently chaired a meeting to discuss the trip at DCCI Secretariat office here. Also in attendance was its Agro Business Committee chairman Malcolm Mussen Lamoh who is also Batang Ai assemblyman.

According to Kilat, a tentative programme had been drawn up by a Kuching-based travel agency and among places of interests they would visit would be the Sun Moon Lake, Aboriginal Specialty Centre and a Recreational Farm and Aquaculture Project in Taichung.

He said the Taiwan trip would be DCCI’s third annual Overseas Exploratory Tour.

In 2012 and 2014, more than 100 DCCI members went for similar eye-opening trips to Vietnam and Myanmar, he added.

Those interested to join the tour are urged to register with DCCI Secretariat or to call them at 082-425821; fax: 082-422806: or email to [email protected].
