LABUAN: The Labuan Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) in performing its social responsibility, helped transport a road accident victim on its boat from Labuan to the Menumbok jetty before the victim was then sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.

A spokesperson for Labuan MMEA, Muhamad Hanif Abu Zarin  yesterday said their operation room received a call for help from Labuan Hospital on Friday at 9pm.

“The victim, identified as Zainuddin Abdullah aged 70, was in critical condition and needed urgent surgery in Kota Kinabalu where he was transported at 10.50pm from the Labuan MMEA jetty to Menumbok, accompanied by a doctor and another medical officer,” he said, adding that Labuan MMEA was ever ready to extend its help should there be any marine emergency case.
