KUDAT: Two were killed while four others were injured when a Toyota Hilux pickup truck and a Proton Wira car collided along Jalan Kampung Tinutudan, in Kudat yesterday.
Senior Fire Officer II of the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (Rescue) Sabah, Mohd Saidi Sabin said they received an emergency call at 11:48 am yesterday and seven personnel were sent to the scene.
“Initial investigations at the scene found that the two vehicles were involved in a collision and had killed two passengers while a passenger in the Proton Wira was badly injured and three others sustained minor injuries in the incident,” he said.
He also said members of the public who were at the scene had taken the victims out of the vehicles prior the arrival of the fire personnel while the fire rescue personnel then cut the battery wires of the Proton Wira car to prevent fire sparks which could cause fire.
Mohd Saidi added that the operation ended at 12.45 pm and all of the victims had been sent to Kudat Hospital for further action.
