BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Ministry of Health (MoH) continues its efforts to provide comprehensive services to patients. According to the Minister of Health, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Johan Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Adanan bin Begawan Pehin Siraja Khatib Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohamad Yusof, officers of his ministry not only take care of patients at the hospital but also visit the homes of those in need of assistance, ©BRUDIRECT.COM reported.
The Minister of Health stated this at a ceremony to present contributions and medical equipment to patients at their homes in the Brunei-Muara District yesterday. He added that the Ministry of Health (MoH) has identified not only patients who need assistance in the form of equipment such as wheelchairs and mattresses and other essentials, but also those who need moral support and encouragement, which the Ministry is also making an effort to extend to alleviate their burden. During the house visit, the delegation that also includes doctors will also examine the patients, observe their conditions and provide the assistance that they need.
The Minister of Health handed over cash contributions, basic necessities and medical equipment to patients in the Brunei-Muara District. Nineteen patients in the Brunei-Muara and Tutong Districts received the contributions. This welfare activity is conducted by the Medical Welfare Section of the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital, to assist patients and their families under the care of the section. Such an initiative can brighten up the life the recipients with great appreciation. Among them, eighteen-year-old Dayang Nur Hidayah binti Mohamad Asrul, of Kampung Katimahar, who has been undergoing treatment for chronic cancer since 2013, and Dayangku Sairah binti Pengiran Saifuddin of Kampung Kilanas, expressed their gratitude for the contributions.
In the Tutong District, the contributions were presented by Dr. Hajah Rahmah binti Haji Mohamad Said, the Deputy Permanent Secretary for Professional and Technical, at the Ministry of Health. Also joining the delegation was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit, a Legislative Council Member, who is also Penghulu of Mukim Telisai.
The delegation visited the houses of three patients in the Bukit Beruang National Housing Scheme, Kampung Kiudang and Kampung Luagan Duduk. The contributions came from the Medical Welfare Charity Fund of the Ministry of Health (MoH), through several charity programmes, as well as from the private sector, the Ministry of Health’s staff and individuals. The recipients in the district, Haji Embran bin Haji Abdullah and Norhayati binti Haji Abdullah expressed their appreciation and gratefulness for the contributions.
