Strong winds, rough seas until this Wednesday

KUALA LUMPUR: Strong winds and rough seas are expected to continue in the waters of Sabah (Kudat), Phuket, Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang, Palawan and Sulu until Wednesday.

According to the Meteorological Department, Southwesterly winds with speeds of between 50-60 kilometres per hour (kph) and waves up to 4.5 metres (m) high were dangerous to all shipping and coastal activities, including fishing and ferry services.

Meanwhile, strong Southwesterly winds of between 40 to 50kmph and waves up to 3.5m high were expected to continue in the waters of Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Sarawak (Miri), Sabah (Interiors, West Coast), Labuan and Reef North, until Wednesday, which posed a danger to small boats, as well as sea recreational and sports activities. – Bernama
