KUCHING: Dato Wee Hong Seng was returned unopposed as president of the Kuching Amateur Swimming Association (Kasa) 2010 during the election of office-bearers at its annual general meeting held at a local restaurant yesterday.
Others who also won their posts unopposed for the new term 2015-2016 were deputy president Dr Alexander Likaw Giap, secretary Sylvia Lau and treasurer Robert Ong.
Anthony Kong was retained as advisor while Stephanie Ting was appointed the legal advisor. Some of the new faces were Jong Fui Ling who was elected as vice president, Sabrina Tan as assistant treasurer and Clement Chong as assistant secretary.
However, there are now seven committee members when compared to only five in the previous term.
They are Mervin Kuek, Alex Ng, Lawrence Chen, Chua Choon Huat and Ting Tieng Hee. The AGM also saw the setting up of the disclipline and technical committees.
Dr Alexander heads the discipline committee that included Lam Chung Kiat and Wong Chiew Tong while the technical committee comprising Nadia Kho, Michael Chua and Arthur Chan is headed by Anthony Kong.
A sub-committee was also set up, with Cecilia Chong, Frankie Lau, Alex Wee, Alvin Liew and Lily Ting as its members.
