Strong southwesterly winds expected to continue until Sunday

KUALA LUMPUR: Strong southwesterly winds of 40-60kmph with waves rising up to 4.5m occurring over the waters of Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Sarawak (Miri), Sabah and Labuan territorial waters are expected to continue until Sunday.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department in a statement here today said the condition was dangerous to all shipping and coastal activities including fishing and ferry services.

The statement said a similar situation is expected to occur in the waters of Phuket, Condore, Reef North, Layang-Layang, Palawan and Sulu.– BERNAMA
