PASIR MAS: This year’s Aidilfitri is more meaningful for Sana Abdul Malek, 23, as she gets to spend it with her five-year-old daughter who is a child abuse victim.
Sana has prepared early to spend the festive season with Nur Zuliana Zaara Zulkifli or Yaya.
“Although Yaya is still traumatised over what has happened to her, I have made sure that all the preparations for Aidilfitri has been done much earlier.
“What makes me happy is Yaya asking me many times to come home…to spend Aidilfitri with us,” she said when met by reporters here yesterday.
She said as a mother, she was very relieved to see Yaya’s health improving since receiving treatment at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZII).
Nur Zulian a is suspected to have been abused by her stepmother for two years at her father’s house in Rantau Panjang near here, leaving her with permanent disabilities and 13 broken bones including her backbone.
The father and step-mother were yesterday charged in the Sessions Court with abusing the child — Bernama
