KOTA KINABALU: MASwings handed over RM40,050 collected from its Sabah earthquake donation drive to the Board of Trustees of Sabah Parks yesterday.

Its chief executive officer, Captain Ritzerwan Rashid, handed over the donation to Tourism, Environment and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun at the latter’s office.

The proceeds were collected from MASwings and MAS staff across Sabah and Sarawak, as well as members of the public through a company-initiated donation drive aimed towards assisting the victims and their family members who were affected by the earthquake.

MASwings’ Sabah earthquake donation drive was set up immediately following the earthquake, starting from June 10 to 30. Donation collection points were set up at every MASwings’ station across East Malaysia at its check-in counters and ticketing offices.

Public contributions/donations were also made on board MASwings’ selected flights in Sabah and Sarawak.

Captain Ritzerwan also made a personal contribution to the same cause through the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Culture office.
