HM Birthday Celebration to Focus on All-Encompassing Solidarity

JALAN PERDANA MENTERI, BERAKAS: His Majesty Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam have consented for August 15, 2015 as a special holiday in conjunction with His Majesty’s 69th birthday celebration, this year. His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, in his sabda announced the matter while chairing the Second Meeting of the National Committee for His Majesty’s 69th birthday celebration, ©BRUDIRECT.COM  reported.

Touching on the celebration, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in his sabda mentioned the need for the celebration to focus on an itinerary that can attract more participation from all levels of the community, with an objective of strengthening the solidarity of the citizens and residents in the country. Yesterday’s meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office Building, Jalan Perdana Menteri, Bandar Seri Begawan.

Upon arrival, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as the patron of the birthday celebration’s National Committee, was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Othman, the Minister of Home Affairs as the Chairman of the celebration’s National Committee.

The meeting began with a recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Aziz bin Orang Kaya Maharaja Lela Haji Yussof, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The Minister of Home Affairs in his welcoming speech said that His Majesty has consented to the appointment of additional members for this year’s Royal Birthday Celebration National Committee.

The additional members included the Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communications and Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

In his sabda, His Royal highness the Crown Prince stressed that the traditional birthday celebration held for generations is certainly a symbol of the peoples’ strength of solidarity and is synonymous with the continuous progress, peace and prosperity resulting from the leadership of a monarch who is wise and has the soul of the people.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince added that His Majesty has pioneered the development and progress achieved and enjoyed until today revolving around commitment and far-sightedness as well as a caring attitude to always take seriously basic matters in maintaining as well as protecting the interests of the citizens and residents.

His Royal Highness the Crown Prince in his sabda stated that this year, once again the date of His Majesty’s 69th birthday falls in the blessed month of Ramadhan. Nevertheless, His Royal Highness added that the date of 15th of July will still be celebrated such as last year.

Among the agenda of the meeting was the submission of the planning report as well as the progress of preparations organised to date by the relevant committees. The presence of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince at the meeting portrays the care and attention of His Royal Highness towards the preparations lined up, planned and carried out, either by the National Level committee or even at the district level and relevant committees.
