Badminton tournament receives more sponsors

KUCHING: More sponsors have come forward to support the Kuching-Samarahan Divisions Chinese Independent Primary and Secondary Schools Inter-Team Badminton Tournament at CHMS No. 3 school hall from July 25-26.

They are Natural Health Farm and Diamond Interest Sdn Bhd.

Natural Health Farm principal Dr Jessy Chung, who is a strong supporter of badminton competitions, is sponsoring RM3,000 worth of products as prizes for the winners while Diamond Interest Sdn Bhd is sponsoring 15 cartons of mineral water and health products hampers.

The sponsorships were handed over to organising chairman Ho Ai Ming recently by Natural Health Farm Kuching branch manager Valerie and Diamond Interest Sdn Bhd manager Eddie Phang.

Meanwhile, for the Secondary Schools/Associations Inter-Team competition, CHMS No. 1 Alumni has been drawn in Group X with CHMS No. 4, CHMS No. 1 B, CHMS No. 3 Alumni Blue and CHMS No.3 Blue.

The teams in Group Y are CHMS No. 3 Alumni Red, CHMS No.3 Red, CHMS No.1 A, Teacher and Staff Association of CHMS No. 1, 3, 4, and Serian Public Secondary School.

The Group A of Primary Schools Inter-Team competition shall see SJK Chung Hua No. 4 A, SJK Chung Hua No. 6 B, SJK Chung Hua Bau, SJK Chung Hua No. 5 A in action.

Group B comprises SJK Chung Hua Batu 4 1/2, SJK Chung Hua Pending, SJK Chung Hua Padawan and SJK Chung Hua No. 3 B while SJK Chung Hua No.1 A has the company of SJK Chung Hua No. 4 A, SK Song Kheng Hai and SJK Chung Hua No. 5 B in Group C.

The teams in Group D are SJK Chung Hua No. 2, SJK Chung Hua No.1 B, SJK Chung Hua Syn San Too, SJK Chung Hua No. 3 A and SJK Chung Hua No. 6 A.

Senator Datuk Sim Kui Hian will open the competition organised by the Kuching CHMS No. 3 Alumni Association Badminton Club on July 25.

About 300 players from 19 teams will take part in the event.

Badminton enthusiasts are welcome for the matches at CHMS No. 3 school hall on July 25 and 26. Entrance is free.
