LABUAN: Tickets for roll-on/roll-off (roro) ferry from Labuan to Menumbok for the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration have been sold out since last week.
A spokesperson for Labuan Ferry Corporation (LFC) Sdn Bhd yesterday told the The Borneo Post that tickets were only available for the departure on July 20 for the Labuan-Menumbok sector.
“During the first day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri which is expected to fall on this July 17 (Friday), there will be no ferry service available at 7.30am from Labuan. The service is only available at 1.30pm and at 7.30pm.
“Ferry tickets from Menumbok to Labuan are still available by today (Wednesday) and onwards,” said the spokesperson.
The daily operation of both ferries from Menumbok to Labuan during this festive season is at 10.30am, 4.30pm and 10pm.
Another ferry operator, Labuan Mainland Link Sdn Bhd which operates three roro ferries, namely Putra Jaya 1, Kimanis 1 and Goodwill Star also sold all their tickets for Labuan-Menumbok sector and tickets for the sector are only available for departure on July 22.
The company’s spokesperson said for the Menumbok-Labuan sector, tickets were still available from yesterday onwards.
The daily operation for the three ferries from Labuan to Menumbok is at 6am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 3.30pm and 5.30pm.
For Menumbok to Labuan sector, the daily operation is at 8am (except on Sunday and Monday), 9am, 1pm, 2.30pm and 8.30pm.
