Difficult to find missing Kotabaru Fisherman

KOTABARU, South Kalimantan: Fisherman team along with Kotabaru Water Police having trouble finding Nirwan (30), a Pudi Seberang, Sub-district of North Kelumpang, fisherman who allegedly disappeared after falling into the sea, Antaranews reported.

“Currently, the waves height of 1.5 to 2 meters occur in the Pudi waters. The team difficult in searching the victim,” said Kotabaru Chief Police AKBP Suhasto , who was accompanied by the Water Police unit AKP Sumari here on Monday.

The disaster began on Sunday (19/7), when Nirwan along with H Yuding set out to sea to put up nets about 32 miles to the southeast Pudi at 06.00.

After putting up the fishing gear, around 12:00 victims and Yuding back to the Pudi village by motor boat. At that time, Nirwan sitting at the stern of the boat, while Yuding drive the boat and sat in the middle.

In the middle of the cruise at mile 18, Yuding, the victim’s brother-in-law ,looked back and did not see Nirwan in the stern.

Yuding direct U-turn to search for the victim. After some time, he still did not find the victim.

Yuding ask help to Arliansyah, other fisherman, but they did not find the victim. Finally they asking for help to fishermen in the village of Pudi and Water Police.

Coordinator of the National SAR Agency in Kotabaru Zulkifli claimed to just received the information about the loss of Pudi fisherman.
