KUCHING: The new Kompleks Penyayang in Sri Aman can serve as a point of reference for leaders who would like to apply the same integrated complex concept in their respective constituencies.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim said the complex, which is the first in Malaysia, housed all agencies and departments from the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development and Welfare Department under one roof.

“For example, there will be Community Rehabilitation Programme (PDK) department, Children Activity Centre (PAKK), Senior Citizens Daily Activity Centre (Pawe) and nursery…meaning to say whatever programme we have we will put them under Kompleks Penyayang so it becomes like a sample.

“So for whoever who would like to emulate this kind of set up in their area, we advise them to come to the complex to see for themselves the concept,” she told a press conference after the state-level Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at Dewan Majma’ Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah here yesterday.

With around 95 per cent of the complex completed, Rohani, who is also Batang Lupar MP, said it will be holding its first event this Thursday (July 23).

“We will be organising a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the complex to celebrate the festive occasion with the people of Sri Aman and its surrounding areas,” she added.
