College shows the way – organise, play, learn

KUCHING: Executive College (EC) held a two-day badminton tournament at the 10th Floor of Crown Towers, Executive Club’s Badminton Courts, recently.

Organised by Diploma in Quantity Surveying students, it attracted 56 participants including staff and students.

Cash prizes were given out for the four categories contested.

A key objective was to allow the students to learn to organise and coordinate an event as a team.

“I believe the skills you have learnt by putting together this event will benefit you in the future, be it in your workplace or in life,” EC chief executive officer Sheila Sie told the students during the event.

The tournament also aimed to foster an active and healthy lifestyle among students and promote good relationships between staff and students.

EC offers Foundation in Arts and Diploma in Quantity Surveying, which leads to Bachelor’s Degree programmes in prestigious universities in Malaysia, Australia, United Kingdom and Singapore. The college also offers Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) and Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Construction Management, in collaboration with Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL).

With the integration of advanced and high-tech facilities such as the iPad and interactive TV to facilitate in the teaching and learning, EC strives to become an institution where education truly meets innovation. Students are exposed to methods of acquiring knowledge using practical technologies to meet the demands of the current and future market.
